OK, mainly I made this page because there is misinformation here. I’m not a show-dog handler, jazz musician, or Tae-Bo enthusiast.
I was born in Hong Kong in 1975, moved to Canada in 1977. I studied creative writing at the University of British Columbia and Columbia University, where I got my MFA.
So far, I’ve six books out and forthcoming. I used to make a living as a freelance writer, and I still freelance a little bit. But now I’m mainly a teacher. Until recently, it was at UBC Creative Writing and The Writer’s Studio at Simon Fraser University. In July 2020, I became an Assistant Professor at UBCO in Kelowna.
I (still) live in Vancouver with my wife and kids.
